Cheesy Chive Bread

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

  • 500g white bread flour

  • 10g instant dried yeast

  • 60g softened butter

  • 2 cups warm milk

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 6 Tablespoon chopped fresh chives

  • 100g grated cheddar cheese

  1. In a bowl, sift in the flour and salt. Add sugar, chives and the yeast.

  2. Add 3/4 of the cheese 

  3. Add the butter and milk and combine

  4. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. Cover and leave in a warm place for 1 hour

  5. Knock the dough down and knead again

  6. Place in a greased loaf tin and leave to rise to double its size

  7. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top and bake in a preheated oven at 180℃ for 40 minutes.
